We've hit 3 countries, partnered with dream companies, & garnered some media attention, but most importantly, helped thousands of people connect with each other.
Our origin
Brothers Mich and Max Ward, and best friend Christian Williamson started Before the Internet in September of 2024.
Weeks earlier, they went on a fishing trip, and decided to leave their phones in the car for three days. After realizing just how good they felt phoneless, they had accidentally stumbled the idea for Before the Internet.
They started hosting phone-free parties in February to promote their conversation-starting apparel. Within 2 months, there had been a BTI event in Toronto, Florida and Bahamas. After the first few Before the Internet events, one thing was clear:
That people in their 20s are craving real life connection, and will show up and show OUT for a phone-free event.
Before the Internet is now an event provider, so they can help facilitate other people having phone-free events.

Why are we doing all this?
Because our generation was promised something they never got. Loneliness is on the rise, and connection is in the sh*tter, and we believe our little black anxiety rectangles might have something to do with it.
