Q: Do the pouches stop guests photographing talent?

Yes. Both camera lenses are physically covered for as long as the pouch is locked, so there is no angle, no zoom and no way to take a photo of anyone in the room. It applies to every guest equally, which is what stops it feeling like a rule aimed at one person.

Q: Can we lock phones in just the VIP area, not the whole event?

Yes, and this is the most common setup we run. Pouches go on at the VIP door and come off at the VIP exit, so the rest of the venue runs as normal.

Q: Do guests hand their phones to security?

No. Every guest keeps their own phone, locked in the pouch, the whole time. Security never holds a device, which removes the argument at the door and the liability afterwards.

Q: What about geotagging and location?

A locked pouch stops the photo being taken, which is what most location leaks actually are. The phone stays on the network, so we make no claim about tracking or signal. If the requirement is genuine radio silence, a pouch is the wrong product and we will say so.

Q: Which pouch should a VIP area use?

The Semi-Frosted pouch for most rooms, because guests can still take calls and pay at the bar. The Fully Sealed pouch when nothing can leave the room at all, such as unreleased material or anything under NDA.

A drink, a dance, a conversation with the wrong person at the wrong angle. For someone recognisable, an ordinary night out is raw material for a hundred strangers' feeds.

Off duty stops existing

They are working on stage. They should not also be working at the after-party. If every room is a photo opportunity, there is no version of the night where they get to be a person.

One photo gives away the room

Who was there, who they were with, what was said. A single post undoes the entire reason the room was private.

Guests become paparazzi

The invite list is not the press list, but a phone makes every guest a potential seller. A grainy clip of the right person is worth real money.

Location is a safety problem

A geotagged story tells anyone who is watching exactly where your talent is standing, and roughly when they will leave.

Security cannot watch every phone

A door team can check a list. It cannot stop three hundred cameras once everyone is inside.

How it works here

Guests lock their own phone into a pouch at the VIP door and keep it on them all night. Both camera lenses stay covered, so nothing in the room can be photographed or filmed, and nobody hands a device to security.

The effect on the room is the part people do not expect. Once nobody can film, the recognisable person in the corner stops being an attraction and goes back to being a guest. Artists and their teams tell us the same thing repeatedly: the value is not that the photos do not get out, it is that the night stops being a performance.

It also handles the awkward conversation for you. Nobody has to ask a guest to delete something, and your team never has to decide whether to confront someone holding a phone. The rule applies at the door, to everyone, before anyone is inside.

For most VIP areas, the Semi-Frosted pouch keeps calls, texts and Apple Pay working through the panel, so nobody is cut off. For anything under NDA or genuinely confidential, the Fully Sealed pouch seals the phone until it is tapped on an unlocking base at the exit.
